Had to have my car repaired, requiring me to rent from a company who will remain nameless "they pick you up".... Nice store manager (gender doesn't matter) asked what I did for a living & I said I was a librarian & professor.

When asked what I taught, I said "bibliographic instruction." After a pause, I continued "do you know what that is?"

Store manager: "I think it has something to do with the bible, yes?"

(sigh)
